There’s no age limit to exercise!

Just because you may have retired and you may now even qualify for a free bus pass, that doesn’t mean you no longer have the ability to exercise! You shouldn’t stop exercising because you feel you’re too old now –  it’s no longer a valid excuse to me…

I’m never going to keep up with all those younglings…

Well then, I suppose you better give up right now. NOT! No one is asking you to keep up with people half your age that are a lot fitter and mobile than you, it’s just not realistic. It is important to adapt the exercises you do so that they are better suited to yourself. Maybe even try a personal trainer, that way you know you’re in good hands and they will be able to pick out specific exercises based around your ability, goals and needs.Fierce Fit patient doing pressups

No, I’m not saying all people of older ages have to stick to low level, simple exercises

If you are capable of including weights into your training or maybe even increasing the intensity, then go for it! You need to push your body to the max in order to gain the most benefits from the exercise. However, that is only if you have specific goals such as increasing muscle mass, losing weight etc. Some people prefer to do exercise simply to keep mobile and stay active.
