Pilates has a number of health benefits that could contribute to the success of your training programme.

Building a strong core

One of the main benefits of Pilates is building a strong core. Through various class intensities you can continuously improve the strength of the deep core muscles, benefiting to your overall health.

Being body aware

Being body aware is something that will improve with personal training, understanding the needs of your body is key. Pilates also helps with increasing body awareness by strengthening muscles and helping improve posture and balance.

Combat pain

Starting a new fitness regime can be hard work and will put inevitable strain on the body. While this is good as the programme is obviously working, Pilates is there to help manage, reduce or eliminate that pain meaning you can carry on with your exercise plan.

I graduated from University of central Lancashire with a social worker based degree, (Care, Community and Citizenship). I knew I wanted to help people but was unsure of which path to take, I found myself lost, I finished university and still not a clue what to do. During my time at university I no longer found time for physical activity, my love for food grew and my weight slowly crept up. I knew something had to change as I felt friends were moving on around me and I was stationary. This was the kickstart I needed to go on my fitness journey which has seen me shed over eight stone in weight, complete my first marathon in Geneva raising money for UNICEF, qualify as an Advanced Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor.
